Monty says:

If you are an indecisive person, a magic 8-ball will not help, because you'll have to decide whether to consult it, and also whether to take its advice. It would be much better to just give a decisive friend of yours a stun gun so he or she can shock you when you are not making up your mind quickly enough.

Monty Speaks: Ut-oh

Monty's PictureDear Readers,

The other day, I went to the guys at Freeverse, and asked them to let me try a new game. They said, "Sure Monty, want to be the first to try our upcoming game Burning Monkey Word Factory?"

Ut-oh.

Why can't it be Burning Fungus Word Factory, or Toasty Hamster Word Factory?!?! Ah well, I guess it's the price of being Top Banana around here!

Cheers,

Burning Monkey Solitaire III at Golden Master

bms3 screenBurning Monkey Solitaire III, the monkiest, funkiest version of solitaire ever for Windows and Macintosh, has reached Golden Master status, meaning we're ready to start shipping it as soon as the replicators are done making the Compact Discs.

We'll post a demo online as soon as one is ready. Until then, exercise that mousing wrist. You're going to be playing a lot more solitaire this summer.

MacGamer recently took a look at this title. Check out what they had to say:

Other Projects in the Pipeline

bmmj screenBurning Monkey Mah Jong, our tile-matching game and the ferocious action title, Active Lancer are still in development. Both games are for Macintosh computers running Mac OS 9 or later.

We also have a new title that Monty alluded to in his letter. Burning Monkey Word Factory is coming to Windows and Macintosh computers! We're not showing any pictures of it right now, but we are having fun digging up really obscure words for it.

Our legion of testers are hard at work testing these out, when they can get the games away from Monty. If you'd like a peek, you can drop by our booth at MacWorld CreativePro Conference & Expo!

What's Jen Cookin'?

Jen cookingHi again!

I had a really good recipe for fried lasagna this time, but unfortunately, when I sent Monty to get the ingredients, he picked up some french fries and garbonzos. He needs to test his hearing.

Thankfully, I had a five pound bag of chicken wings laying around, so I found something healthy and yummy.

I call this Crab Baked Chicken because I've used baked chicken with crab seasoning. There are no real crabs in here.

recipe shotCrab Baked Chicken

QtyIngredient
1 poundchicken wings
1 cupflour
1/3 cupOld Bay Seasoning
1egg
1/2 cupmilk

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees.

Beat the egg in a bowl. Add the milk to the egg.

Mix the flour and Old Bay Seasoning in a plastic bag.

Dunk the wings in the milk/egg dip, then drop them into the bag. Shake the bag vigorously to coat the wings. Then put the wings into a baking pan.

Bake for 25 minutes or until you smell burning chicken flesh. This one is a favorite recipe of mine, because people see the Old Bay Seasoning on the chicken, and think I'm a master of mixing spices to achieve the right color and flavor. (Unless you're in a crab-eating town, in which case they'll be able to tell you the color of the can you got the seasoning from!)

Like this recipe? Forward it to a friend!

Freeverse Tip: Solace Strategy

Taking control of the islands early in the game can really pay off as later on, when things heat up, it's hard for your enemies to spare the troops to try and take them back.

Monkey Chuckles

Monty, not happy with Jen's mood swings, bought her a mood ring the other day so that he would be able to monitor her moods. When she's in a good mood, it turns green. When she's in a bad mood, it leaves a big red mark on his forehead.

Monty and Jen heard about a huge sale at their favorite store, with special 40% off coupons given to the first 50 people in line. They made a mad dash with Jared to the store 5 hours before it opened, and took their places in the line where people were already camped out.

They each counted the number of people in line, and realized that they had positions 48, 49, and 50. If anyone were to cut in front of them in the line, one of them wouldn't get the 40% off coupon.

At about 30 minutes until the door was supposed to open, a man walked toward the store, bypassing the people in line. Jen and Jared pushed him away. Again, he made an attempt for the door, and this time Jen and jared tackled him.

Then the man said, "Allright, that's it. If you don't let me in, I can't open the store!
