Gothy FTW!

This is just a quick post to show off a better photo of my tattoo and the results of my purchase from the goth store. Surprisingly, the permanent tattoo is perfectly ok with most of the fam, but the removable nail polish has everybody pretty dismayed.

The Moth

I'll put this bluntly. Yesterday I got a tattoo! I've actually wanted to do it for some time, but it's one of those things that doesn't get done until the circumstances are absolutely right. Yesterday was that day. Until I met Tivoli (my assistant/all around awesome person) I didn't really have anyone to help me with the follow through on my crazy schemes. It was really an awesome day all the way around. We even went into a goth store and I bought some purple and black nail polish. I've always wanted to try a more gothy look, just for kicks. Now I can finally try all this stuff. It's awesome. It's lame to be so excited, but I am. I'm doing things completely independent of anybody in my family. I didn't have to ask my mom or my brother to take me into the goth store, or explain why I wanted nail polish. I didn't have to ask to get a tattoo, or have somebody tell me it's the dumbest idea ever. Maybe it was a dumb idea, but it was my idea. I should be able to do any dumb fucking impulsive thing that pleases me. There's no telling what's next!

As for the tattoo process, the thing didn't hurt at all. It was no worse than little pin pricks again and again. I was so paranoid that I would completely flake out in front of Tivoli, the tattoo guy and his apprentice. I've had major surgery under a local. They cut me open like a fish while I was wide awake. I could have died. But I was less nervous about that than I was about absolutely flaking on the tattoo.

Just to prove that I actually had it done, below is photographic proof:

It's a luna moth. The photo kind of sucks, but I'll post better ones later.

The moth don't care when he sees the flame
he might get burned but he's in the game
and once he's in he can't go back, and
beat his wings 'til he burns them black
no the moth don't care when he sees the flame
no the moth don't care when he sees the flame

the moth don't care if the flame is real
cuz flame and moth got a sweetheart deal
and nothing fuels a good flirtation
like need and anger and desperation
no the moth don't care if the flame is real
no the moth don't care if the flame is real

So come on let's go ready or not
cuz there's a flame I know hotter than hot
and with a fuse that's so thoroughly shot
away

the moth don't care if the flame burns low
cuz moth believes in an afterglow
and flames are never doused completely
all you really need is a love of heat
no, the moth don't care if the flame burns low
no, the moth don't care if the flame burns low

So come on let's go ready or not
cuz there's a flame I know hotter than hot
and with a fuse that's so thoroughly shot
away

Landlord FTW!

So, I don't really feel like typing out the entire ordeal, therefore I'll be doing this Reader's Digest style. Basically, we left a perfectly fine apartment to move into the house from which I'm currently banging out this blog. This was about a year ago. I loved the apartment, my room was gothy and purple, it was dreamy. Well, long story short, the landlord here turned out to be a bastard, arguing over various things ensued and we've now got 15 days to pack up and move out. Awesome, I know. Honestly, I never dug this house. My little lair (aka room) is really the dining area converted into my bedroom/office. It's my space, but not really because it's attached with no walls to the living-room and kitchen. Being so out in the open I couldn't paint it purple or anything of that sort.

Despite all of the previous mess, I'm really in quite a good mood. Screw it all, I feel pretty great about things in general. I have a kick ass assistant who just so happens to be one of the absolute coolest people I've ever met. To put things into perspective, if it came down to it, I'd gladly take a bullet in the face for her. And I'm not just saying that because the odds of such happening are extremely low. In other news, I'm writing a novel, 2 chapters so far. I've also got a freelance gig writing chapter 9 of a book on the Sony PSP. Do I know anything about the PSP? No. Can I effectively write about it? We'll see!

Now, my favorite movie quote of the week: "Psychos do not explode when sunlight hits'em, I don't give a fuck how crazy they are!"
